2017 TBS Scholarship Cert Presentation-John Hole.jpg

In keeping with its mission to support the development of future American tradesmen and women, the Thompson Brothers Family Foundation recently awarded its 2017 educational scholarship.

John R. Hole, of Humboldt, an 18-year-old freshman in the Coffeyville Community College Welding Technology program, received the $500 scholarship during the fall 2017 semester and was presented a recognition certificate.

Hole is the son of John and Michelle Hole of Humboldt and a graduate of Humboldt High School. Hole will complete the CCC welding program this spring and said he plans to go to work “on the road” with an established traveling welder who works in a variety of jobs and industries.

The Thompson Brothers Family Foundation offers the student welding scholarship in honor of Clarence “Tommy” Thompson, co-founder of Thompson Brothers Welding & Industrial Supply and lifelong welder by trade.

“Thompson Brothers is proud to support future generations of welders and tradespeople through our scholarship and the support of industrial arts programs in the schools throughout our service area,” said Rick Thompson, owner and president.
